veins

Formed through patience and scalding heat, the hardened plastic surface contains a microcosm of texture and form, abstracted in a dialogue with the material. Inspired by the work of Eva Hesse and Louise Bourgeois, Veins seeks to repulse and intrigue, the same way seeing an exposed vein would.

Veins Sculptures, Sound & Film by Kristine Urban

This film trailer simulates a living organism, using thermoplastic to assemble biomorphic sculptures, inspired by elements of the body like the vein system of the body and inspired by the functions of the nervous system, vascular system, and the synapses firing in the brain. It is also commentary of microplastics permeating every human body and ecosystem,
a parasitic creature mutating with itself and the environmental void.
